Rick and List, I also don't know who the William Bushong in the Hauk household could be, but I do know that Andrew Jackson Bushong who married Catharine Homsher was the son of John Bushong and Magdalena Bauserman and that he did have a brother named William Bushong born 12 August 1804, but that William Bushong stayed right in Shenandoah County and married Rachel Clem as all the court documents and Family Bible prove. In the 1850 census in Shenandoah County, you will find brothers William and Jacob living together with their wives, each with a son. His older brother William Bushong bought out Andrew Jackson Bushong (who married Catharine Homsher) share of their father's estate and I have stood on this land in Powell's Fort. it is beautiful country. Later researched prove that she married a cousin Philip Bushong and went to Henry County, Indiana after she sold her share of the estate she inherited.
