I have posted about the Kosciusko County, Indiana Bushongs in the past so check the BOSCHONG Archives for June 2008 and November 2009 among others. ---------------------- The Syracuse Journal Syracuse, Indiana 17 July 1913 Zylphia A., daughter of Johnathan and Malinda Bushong was born in Starke county, Ohio, 8 June 1850. She departed this life 15 July 1913, at her home in Syracuse, Indiana, aged 63 years, 1 month and 7 days. At the age of three years with her parents, she came to Indiana, residing on a farm three miles west of Syracuse. She was married to Charles V. Smith 21 February 1867. To this union were born six children, Mary Etta who died in infancy, Clara F. Ott and Mrs. William (Laura Bell) Bowld residing in Syracuse, Aubrey V. and Walter L. Smith of Phoenix, Arizona, and Charles R. Smith of Defiance, Ohio. She was converted 14 June 1864, baptized by Elder George Thomas 20 January 1865, united with the Church of God at Meloys school house, later at Syracuse of which she was faithful and loyal member until death. She was a faithful wife and a kind an loving mother ever devoting her life to the interest and welfare of her family and home.
