    1. [BOSCHONG] More on Estate of Jacob Bushong Sr., Died 1811, Augusta County, VA
    2. Good Morning Boschong Subscribers, Here is some further information that was provided to me long ago by Johnita Malone when we were discussing the two Jacob Bushongs living in Rockingham County, VA as Heads of Families in 1784. One thing that Johnita and I discussed about this, was the fact , that it was quite obvious that the two men, Jacob Bushong Sr. and Jacob Bushong Jr. had to be living on the same property since the Jr. had no dwellings. Johnita was totally convinced that her Jacob married to Eve Bossert, was the son of this Jacob Bushong Sr. as shown below. 1784. Heads of Families Rockingham County Page 77, List of Benjamin Harrison Jacob Boshang, Senr. 10 White Souls 1 dwelling 2 other buildings Jacob Boshang, Junr. 3 white souls 0 dwellings or other buildings This is quite obvious that this has to be Jacob Bushong Sr. married to Juliana Weigel and Jacob Bushong Jr. married to Eve Catharine Bossert, father and son. ------------------------- Johnita was able to identify 8 of his children through her extensive research in the Pennsylvania Archives and Church records and she gave me a list of those who she suspected were children. One thing is certain. Although Jacob Sr. stated 11 heirs in his Will, some of his children by the time this Will was written, were deceased, so this couple had more children then have been identified. ---------------------- Augusta County Virginia Will Book 11 Pages 124-126 3 April 1812 Agreeable to an order of Court we the appraisers have made an inventory of the Property of Jacob Bushong deceased this third day of April one thousand eight hundred and twelf and is as follows: VIZ (Inventory follows). (NOTE: Pendleton County is in what is now West Virginia and adjoins Augusta County, VA., on the northwest side) -------------------- Back in October of 2006, my late husband Russell and I made a trip from New Market, over the mountain to Pendleton County courthouse. We found this Deed there and made a copy. The above Estate appraisal for Jacob Bushong with the reference to James Summers makes me wonder if possibly James Summers was married to one of the daughters of Jacob Bushong and Juliana Weigel.
