Boschong Subscribers, I found this marriage announcement in the 1865 new spaper in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. It lead me to ask a few questions about her lineage. We know that Elizabeth Bushong who wrote her Will in 1851 mentioned her niece Hannah Bushong as daughter of her brother Jacob BUT is this the same Hannah E. Bushong who married Tobias Royer? Elizabeth was a very astute business woman who made a codicil to her Will in January 1865 and would have made another codicil to her Will to include Hannah with her married name as Royer in November of that same year since that would have been the legal thing to do and would have prevented a hassle in trying to prove legally that Hannah was one of the heirs to her estate. Plus we present the following evidence: In the household of her brother Jacob Bushong in the 1850 census, he does have a daughter named Hannah age 17 years and she is the Hannah mentioned in her Aunt Elizabeth Bushong's Will. (BOSCHONG Archives March 2007). We are wondering if someone contact ancestry and had them change this age since her age in the 1860 census would have been 27 if she was Jacob's daughter. It is getting to the point with all of the changes going on that you cannot trust the census records unless you use the microfilmed versions in the libraries. If this age was changed to fit with the Hannah who married Tobias Royer, then you will note that this Hannah Bushong does not fit ANY of the census records age wise for the Hannah E. Bushong who married to Tobias Royer. So...... who were the real parents of this Hannah Elizabeth Bushong living in the household of Kelly in 1850, household of Jacob in 1860 and married to Tobias Royer? You will find the following Bushong children who are living in the 1850 census without parents: Elizabeth Bushong age 13 years, living in a Kelly household {Hannah Elizabeth Bushong?} George Bushong age 5 Martin Bushong, age 3 years, living in a Gochenour household Anna Maria age 1, living with in a Gochenour household. Where are their parents? Now in the 1860 census a George, Martin and Anna Maria are living in the household of Isaac and Susan Bushong. Either one of two things happened.
