Boschong Subscribers, Just so you know, since some of you have been wondering who Rick Bushong is posting to the List recently. Rick is a descendant of Nickolas Bushong and he believes that all of the Bushongs in this country are the descendants of only two Immigrants that being John Bushong of 1731 and Nickolas Bushong of 1732. I do not agree with him nor do some other seasoned researchers. Rick and I have a very amicable relationship via e-mail so not to worry about a rift, we just both have a different perspective of things. Only more research and documentation and time will tell the true story about the Bushongs. You must remember that we have a very large gap of information from 1718 when the first Bushong appears in the tax records of Chester County, Pennsylvania until the 1880 census when we can view families in the census with their relationships. We can assume at best and we can fill in some with obits and Wills, but the problem is the obits in the very early Bushongs is sorely lacking and Bushongs were not very conscientious about writing Wills and preferred settling with their children before they died. Also most of them did not baptize their children so those records are sparse. Gloria
