Boschong Subscribers, There is some misinformation floating around on the net on various sites including FINDAGRAVE. Samuel Lindsley Bushong was married to Elizabeth "Lizzie" May, born 17 March 1845 to John May and Martha McCollister. Elizabeth's maiden name was MAY not FORD. Her mother married twice and David Ford was her second marriage. We know her death certificate states her father as David Ford, but that just isn't correct as it was John May. The informant on that certificate was her grandson Charles Bowen who probably didn't know his great grandmother had married twice. Also Elizabeth May was NOT born in December 1842 as an Ancestry researcher claims. That would be her husband Samuel who was born 31 December 1842. Elizabeth (May) Bushong was born 17 March 1845 in Huron County, Ohio. Please make that correction if you have been copying info out there submitted by people who are doing sloppy research. We have posted before about what might be the mother of Samuel Lindsley Bushong so check the BOSCHONG Archives for May 2009, June 2009 and August 2009 for further information. The reason I say MIGHT BE the mother is because I am not totally convinced that this Samuel Lindsley Bushong is the son of Jacob Bushong and Hannah Clark. He shows up in no census records with her. Samuel age 17 the son of this couple, was appointed a Guardian in 1860 and then he resigned shortly after. It is possible that this Samuel died and this is the reason he resigned. But until I can find more documentation, we'll leave it as is. --------------- SAMUEL LINDSLEY BUSHONG Born: 31 December 1842, Ohio, possibly the son of Jacob Bushong and Hannah Clark Died: 29 April 1914, Forest Village, Hardin County, Ohio Burial: 5 May 1914, Hueston Cemetery, Forest Village, Hardin County, Ohio Married: Elizabeth "Lizzie" May Born: 17 March 1845, New Haven, Huron County, Ohio, d/o John May and Martha McCollister Died: 8 October 1932, Forest Village, Hardin County, Ohio Burial: 10 October 1932, Hueston Cemetery, Forest Village, Hardin County, Ohio --------------- 1850 Federal Census: Could not find Samuel Lindsley Bushong anywhere!
