Boschong Subscribers, Many of you including me have had a brick wall with Elizabeth Bushong who married John Brown. Some of this information will be new to you. We posted this information to the Vashenan List hoping that perhaps someone had the key to jumping the brick wall. I added a few pieces of information to this List that I forgot to add to the other post. Let's hope it works. --------------------- Good Afternoon fellow Listmates, Is anyone else looking forward to Spring? Brrrr it was cold this morning but the tabebuia trees are blooming in beautiful colors of pink and yellow so it looks like Spring but feels like winter. I have several rather large brick walls, and I am hoping that someone on the List will recognize some of these family names and have additional information that will help me hurdle the wall. They all concern the same family, different generations. The first brick wall concerns when Elizabeth (Wendel) Bushong died and where she is buried. The second brick wall concerns when her daughter Elizabeth (Bushong) Brown died and where she is buried. The third brick wall concerns when John Brown died and where he is buried. The fourth brick wall concerns when the daughter Eliza (Brown) Peer died and where she is buried. The fifth brick wall concerns when Philip Peer died and where he is buried. ------------------- John Bushong served in the American Revolution in George Long/Lang's Company of the Virginia Flying Camp. This agreement was like a "rent to own" agreement between John Bushong and his brother-in-law John Brown. The way we interpret this is John Bushong had been renting this property from John Brown for $1 per year, John Brown got into some financial trouble, the property was ordered to be sold at a sheriff's sale and John Bushong bought this piece outright for $100 on the courthouse steps in 1832. The property was probably on the line between Shenandoah and Page County, that's why the agreement was found in Page County where John Brown was living. The time frame of this agreement was around the time when John Bushong married in 1833 to Catharine (Ruffner) Clem. 1832 - Agreement between John Bushong and brother-in-law John Brown Page County Virginia Deed Book A Page 209-210 Family History Library, Salt Lake City Film/Fiche # 2047164 "Article of agreement made this 5th of February 1832, Between John Brown of Page County and State of Virginia and John Bushong of the County of Shenandoah and State aforesaid.
