    1. Re: [BOSCHONG] Robert Ray J. Bushong - 1862, Ohio to the Gold mines in the Wa...
    2. Boschong Subscribers, Here may be a clue as to the relationship of Robert Ray J. Bushong. We found several Clifton Ogden's living in Findlay in 1860, one an adult and one a child. The boy, Clifton Ogden was living in the household of Andrew Bushong and wife Sarah. However, going page by page of Findlay, I did not find Robert Ray J. Bushong or even a name close to that. 1860 Federal Census: Ohio Findlay Town and Township, Hancock County Enumerated 5 July 1860 Page 62B Lines 17-23, HH 867/842 Andrew Bushong 44/Male/White/Stove&TinMerchant/$6000-$8000/OH Sarah Bushong 39/Female/White/OH Julian C. Bushong 16/Male/White/AttendedSchool/OH Orange C. Bushong 12/Male/White/AttendedSchool/OH John Trel 22/Male/White/JourneyTinner/OH CLIFTON OGDEN 16/Male/White/ApprenticeTinner/OH Sarah Osburn 23/Female/White/OH Note: Nearby was the adult Clifton A. Ogden with a wife and children but we have ruled him out as the fellow on the wagon train west because his wife and children were not named as part of the wagon train. The Clifton Ogden on the train and in the household above could be his son thought or at the least some relative. We did find a Bushong boy, Isaac Bushong age 18, also living in Findlay with a non Bushong family. It appears there are several Bushong children probably all from the same family, living in various households in Findlay. Possibly the father of these children was dead, so at this point, we still have not been able to identify Robert Ray J. Bushong. We are wondering if the typist for the newspaper mistook a J for an I as his initial and possibly his name was Robert Ray I. Bushong? Just a random thought. --------------------------- Researched and Submitted by Gloria Bushong
