The Shenandoah Herald Woodstock, Virginia Friday, 18 April 1890 Page 3, Column 3 The Staunton Vindicator says: On Wednesday afternoon Miss Kate Bushong, a sister of Rev. Mr. Bushong of the county, who is in charge of the clothing department at the W. L. Asylum, heard of the illness of her brother at Waynesboro, and started for there in a buggy driven by Mr. James Landes. As they got out of the back gate of the Asylum, a train frightened the horse which wheeled around and upset the buggy. Miss Bushong had a leg broken and received serious injuries about the head. She was taken back to the Asylum where Dr. Blackford took her case in charge. Mr. Landes was badly bruised. --------------------- NOTE: Miss Kate Bushong later married a William Hedrick Rev.
