The Lancaster Lancaster, Pennsylvania 3 May 2009 J. D. BUSHONG Barber J. D. Bushong, 76, of 5890 Main Street, East Petersburg, died unexpectedly at his place of work on Friday, May 1, 2009. He was under a doctor's care. Born in Ephrata, he was the son of the late Herbert L. and Leah E. Grabill Bushong. He was a Korean War veteran, serving in the U.S. Army, 7th Infantry Division. He was a recipient of a Meritorious Unit Award and a C.I.B. He worked as a barber for Glatfelter's Barber Shop in East Petersburg for over 55 years. Mr. Bushong was interested in antique and classic cars. An auto racing fan, he attended numerous car and air shows. He was a member of the American Legion, New Holland, and the Ephrata Church of the Brethren. He is survived by a son, Andrew David Bushong, with whom he resided; a sister, Geraldine G. wife of Robert Fuller, Lancaster. The memorial service will be on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the Ephrata Church of the Brethren, 201 Crescent Avenue, Ephrata. The family will visit with friends after the service.
