    1. [BOSCHONG] Samuel Bushong, Revolutionary War Soldier died 1829 - Ohio
    2. Boschong Subscribers, There has been a lot of discussion about an article in the Fall 1984 issue of the Bushong Bulletin where Carol W. Bell put up a pretty good case claiming that the Revolutionary War soldier buried in Grandview Cemetery was really Jacob Bushong her ancestor. She put out a lot of material to support her claim, but even with all that, there is one small detail that she seemed to have overlooked. The stone was erected in 1829, the year that Samuel Bushong died. The tombstone reads "SAMUEL BUSHONG DIED 1829, FOUGHT UNDER BARON STEUBEN IN THE REVOLUTIONARY WAR." If Samuel Bushong died in 1829 which we believe he did, then he could not possibly be Jacob Bushong born 1753-54 since that Jacob was still alive and signing a Deed with his wife Eve in April 1830 in Centreville. (Columbiana County Ohio Deed Book 13, Page 348). There definitely was a Samuel Bushong who died in 1829 and his name was not Jacob. Sorry guys. Gloria
