Boschong Subscribers, I told you I would get back to you when I knew more about Donald Richard Bushong. Back the 26 April 2009 I posted about the lineage of this fellow not realizing that he was a descendant. I am re-posting that post here with a few new comments in caps, but for further information on the family check the BOSCHONG Archives for April 2009 and October 2008. I would like to thank Rich from Roseland Park Cemetery who I talked to first for being so helpful and second to William Kraulik who was so gracious to spend time talking with me by telephone. LINEAGE: Jacob Bushong & Eve Bossert John Bushong & Barbara Kreighbaum Daniel Bushong & Janet/Jenette Stevenson William Andrew Bushong & Louise Carrie Myers Donald Willis Bushong & Margaret C. Palmer Donald Richard Bushong & Karen Lawrence {No issue} ------------------------ Friday I talked to Rich at the Roseland Park Cemetery in Berkley, Michigan and he confirmed that Sgt. Donald Richard Bushong was buried in their cemetery. Price Funeral Home in Troy was in charge of burial and he is buried near Woodward Avenue with a bronze military marker marking his grave. His grave location: ROSELAND PARK CEMETERY (Berkley, Oakland County, Michigan) DONALD R. BUSHONG Section 48 Lot 129 Grave 6 Burial date: 25 July 1968 Two other graves are in this Lot. That of his mother Margaret C. (Palmer) Kraulik who passed away 9 November 2006 at age 87 years and one for her husband William Kraulik who is still alive. Yesterday (Saturday) I spoke with the step-father, William Kraulik who lives in Ferndale about his step-son and wife Margaret. He told me that Margaret had divorced Donald W. Bushong and that he had married Margaret in 1968 the year that Donald was killed in Viet Nam. They had known each other for years before they married. He told me that Donald was on his second tour in Viet Nam when he was killed. He told me that Donald had two sisters. One sister named Rebecca was murdered Christmas Eve in 1993 by her husband's son after an argument and he is serving time in prison for that murder. She is buried under the name Rebecca D'Angelo. The other sister Marianna married a Jarvis. She has some serious health issues. She is widowed, has three daughters and a son and lives near William Kraulik. Donald Richard Bushong's wife Karen Lawrence remarried after Donald's death but he could not remember who she married or where she is living as he lost touch. ------------------------- Rick Gamber submitted this obit to the Bushong Bulletin:10:1 (Spring 1994) The Pontiac Press Pontiac, Michigan 22 July 1968 TROY MARINE DIED ON 2ND DUTY TOUR.
