    3. Thanks to everyone for the discussion. The bottom line is that when I asked some of the Bushongs to participate, particularly those older members, who are not on the Internet, they hesitated and asked me if the test would be held in confidence. I promised them that it would and I have to honor that promise. As I have stated, I will put lineages of 3 to 4 generations starting with their grandparents without naming the individual's name. I will assign numbers to each in no particular order. I am working on that now so please be patient. This will have to satisfy everyone as I feel it is a compromise to both without going against my promise to those participants. I am bond by my promise. I hope you all understand. This is a very small result sample of your total DNA and it includes just a few of the Y-chromosome markers. Someone correct me if my statement is not correct. I do think it would be beneficial to those who are doing Bushong research to at least have a some additional information on the lineage lines that have been tested and which ones closely match with each other and which ones do not without giving individual marker numbers. Not everyone can participate in the project even if they wanted too, as you have to be a male descendant with the last name of Bushong. 3. Joy Ray, Please. Herb is not a pain. He's a good guy and we should honor the request of those people who actually provided the DNA for the testing and want confidentially. Some are not even on the Internet. To what purpose does one have to know every single detail? I am going to provide 3 to 4 generations back from the grandfather's of the participants and that will have to satisfy everyone. The bottom line is: You are in the haplo group R1a1a and match the Bushongs OR you are in a different haplo group and match another surname's DNA, plain and simple. Blessings. 1. Re: [BOSCHONG] DNA questionaire by a Non-participant of the Bushong project and some BIG NEWS!
    2. Russell Bushong
    3. Thanks Herb for speaking up with your thoughts as a participant of the DNA testing. John, Until I insisted on pioneering the Bushong DNA testing, everyone had their lineages all tied up in a neat little bow, not taking into consideration several factors: Lack of early documentation, affairs and adoption. A lot has been discovered as a result of the Bushong Project. Don't ever think that leaving anyone out of the testing from any one lineage, concludes that they are Bushongs by blood, because they just might not be, as we have already discovered. We have 4 participants with their last name spelled Bushong who are not Bushongs by blood. I might add that 3 of these 4 are ALL from the "Andreas" lineage. The other fellow, I have no idea what lineage he is from as the trail goes cold in Washington State. So I would say there is a big problem in the Andreas lineage. How many more could there be? Only more testing can answer that question and I would think that every Bushong would want to know for sure whether he is a Bushong by blood or adoption, as it is important, if you want to join a lineage group such as DAR, SAR, Colonial Dames, etc. I am willing to do some work on the lineages of those already tested but I will not give out the names of the participants and I will not start with the original immigrants since there is too much difference of opinion on the number of immigrants and exactly which way they are related to each other. It is very important to have ALL Bushongs tested not just a few. If you are familiar with the Steps, then you know how important they are, and not all of the Bushongs tested so far, match each other in the same Steps even from the same supposed immigrant. Also those that match others (not in the Bushong project) from other projects, don't even match the same people in the first 12 markers. I may need some help since I am not even sure of some of the lineages. I may have to make a few phone calls, so I will have to get back to you. Those of you who are in communication with Rick, you tell him that I don't want to see any DNA reports on his sites about the DNA results as he is not the spokesman for this project and it would be fool hardy, misleading and jumping to conclusions about knowledge he does not have. He is not the co-administrator for obvious reasons, and doesn't have access to the participant's results. I regret that I even granted Rick the privilege that no one else's participant's family has of seeing the results. His father was the only one that should have had that privilege. To clear up one more thing that I was accused by Rick, lying in my Report, Yes, Rick did ask to be co-administrator but after all the harassment, attacks and insults publicly and behind the scenes on my character and my researching skills, with absolutely no remorse or apology, do you really think I would allow him to be my co-administrator? Would you? I think not. 1. Re: [BOSCHONG] DNA questionaire by a Non-participant of the Bushong project and some BIG NEWS!
    2. John, I partially agree with, both, your concerns and comments. As shown by recent tests, there was a break about three or four generations back. So even though Andreas descendents had been tested before, a break was found by having more test participants. As the administrator has shown, on this list, some of the recent test participants have yet to provide or document their lineage more than three generations. However, Anyone wanting to participating in the DNA testing should contact the administrator of the Bushong DNA project (which just happens to be the administrator of this site) and discuss whether a close relative has already had a test and decide if their DNA test may or may not provide additional Diversity. I do not discourage anyone wanting to test as I have always agreed with the importance of the confidential DNA project. 3. Gloria, I've just sent you some follow up DNA questions, thank you in advance for giving them your attention, but there maybe an additional follow up question or two, so you may want to reply to me rather than posting publicly. Either way, thank you, Rick ---------------- Gloria, Are you going to answer the questions? Do you need more time? If you're not going to answer let me know and I'll post it with something like ... will not respond, or no comment, I'm not sure, but it's definitely would look better if you would answer the few basic question. Rick ---------------- You obviously have the questions, and have had plenty of time. So will you put in your answers to the questions? Or do you want me to fill them in? An uncooperative spokesman for the project is what most people will see. I will publish the questions tonight with your input or without....

    3. Gloria, It would be more helpful to all, those taking the test, those thinking about doing the test, and those researchers that can't take the test, if the last three to five generations of known ancestors were given on Answer #2 below for each individual participant. That way it can be determined whether an individual line has already been tested or not. I'm for testing, but we don't need to over test. Additional DNA testing is only needed if it serves to give us additional information that we currently don't have. For example: 5. Andreas Bushong, George Bushong (Martha Davis), George Bushong (Nancy Parker) 6. Andreas Bushong, John Bushong Sr (Jannet Young/Summers), John Bushong Jr (Eleanor Rush) ... 9. Andreas Bushong, George Bushong (Lydia Rush), James Bushong (Drusilla Stout), James Wilson Bushong (differs from the other Bushongs tested - matches some Mitchells that have been tested) 10. Andreas Bushong, George Bushong (Lydia Rush), James Bushong (Drusilla Stout), Joseph Hill Bushong (differs from the other Bushongs tested - matches some Mitchells that have been tested) Thanks, John Fahey On Wed, May 22, 2013 at 3:10 PM, Russell Bushong <chochoruss@aol.com> wrote: > ----------------------------------- > QUESTION 2. 1. [BOSCHONG] Another update on the Bushong DNA project
    2. Russell Bushong
    3. Happy Memorial Day everyone, I hope everyone is able to spend the day with their family and friends and will remember what this day was truly set aside for. As I have announced, I now have a co-administrator who is a direct descendant of Jacob Bushong and Sarah "Sally" Strickler. I am waiting for that person to get acclimated to the project and read up on all the tutorial information that Family Tree DNA provides on their website. Next month, we will discuss together how best to go forward with the project. Since this person has a marketing degree, we will try to use it to our best advantage as I'm sure, what ever we decide, you all will approve. Be patient! We will discuss the possibilities of having a free website on the Family Tree DNA site, but if we do create one, which I am not promising we will do, just exploring the possibilities, it still will not be open to the general public and will be accessed only with a password. If you are wondering why I have not announced the co-administrator's name as yet, it is because I hestitate to put that person in the same uncomfortable position I find myself. I'm sure you understand what I mean. I am still being continually harassed and threatened via e-mail (3 in the past couple of days) because of the project. My answers to the questionnnaire did not suit the questioner and another follow-up questionnaire was sent with his responses very argumentative. I answered all the questions in the first one and will not respond for the sake of argumentation. Blessings and safe Memorial Day to each of you, Gloria Neiger Bushong Co-Administrator Bushong DNA project
