    1. [BOSCHONG] Obit for Daniel Scott Fear, h/o Christy Bushong, son-in-law of Conrad and Carra Bushong - Indiana
    2. Russell Bushong
    3. Boschong Subscribers, It is with a sad heart that I report the passing of Daniel Scott Fear, son-in-law of Conrad and Carra Bushong. This was expected as Scott has been battling a brain tumor for many years. I had recently received the following correspondence from Conrad and Carra concerning Scott, but it is always hard when it actually happens. Dan is now free of pain and with the Lord. Hugs to Conrad, Carra, Christy and the rest of the family. ----------------- Hi all, We are at Christy's staying with the girls. On Tuesday night Dan went to stay at the Hospice House in Columbus. His journey on this earth is about complete. They are just now trying to keep him comfortable. Christy is with him all of the time. Girls are doing ok. Dan is having terrible headaches, on morphine and other pain medicine, sleeps alot, some nausea but ready to be with the Lord. We just ask for prayers and thank you for all the past prayers that have risen up on behalf of Dan and family. What a support group they have had. It has been a tough 10 years but with all of the trials lots of blessings. Love, Carra and Conrad ------------------ The Republic Columbus, Indiana 15 June 2013 DAN SCOTT FEAR Daniel Scott Fear, 39, of Briar Ridge Way, went to be with the Lord at 11 a.m. Friday, 14 June 2013, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. He attended First Baptist Church, was an Eagle Scout, enjoyed playing softball and watching all sports. The most important thing to him was being a father, watching his daughters grow and being involved in their lives and activities. The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Dr. Daniel Cash officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to time of service Wednesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. 1. [BOSCHONG] Obit for Dorothy Louise Bushong Robbins - Pleasanton, Texas
    2. Russell Bushong
    3. See BOSCHONG Archives for November 2009 and May 2013 for further information on this family. I extend my sincere condolences to the family of Dorothy Louise Bushong Robbins. ------------------------ The Pleasanton Express Pleasanton, Texas Friday, 7 June 2013 DOROTHY BUSHONG ROBBINS Dorothy Louise “Dot” Bushong Robbins left this life to be with Jesus on 5 June 2013. Dot was born 29 December 1924 in Papalote to Lucy Lenore West and Virgil Cisero Bushong. She attended Papalote Elementary School and graduated from Incarnate Word in Corpus Christi. Dot met her husband to be, Burney C. Robbins, in Corpus Christi. Burney followed her when her family moved to Austin and whisked her away 7 January 1942 for an impromptu wedding in Austin. The newlyweds put their life on hold when Burney was drafted for World War II and served the Air Force. Dot was termed a ‘favorite Aunt’ by so many nieces and nephews she doted on and created special memories with. After 13 years of marriage, Dot’s prayers were answered and she was blessed with a boy, Kim Lewis Robbins in 1955, the true love of her life. Dot devoted her life to her family as her husband pursued a career with Halliburton. They settled their home in Pleasanton and Dot took up painting, a true passion that soothed her soul. She loved painting, especially with oils and watercolors, and lovingly gifted numerous pieces to her family members. After her husband retired from Halliburton, they frequently traveled with other couples, often relatives, as well as good friends. Hawaii, New England and Muldoon, were favorite destinations. Dorothy loved their annual tradition of entertaining friends and family in Port Aransas. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 54 years, her son and two brothers, Bobby and Howard Bushong. She is survived by her sister, Yvonne Simpson of Ft. Worth, her brother, Glendon Bushong of Corpus Christi and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Serving as pallbearers are Rob Robinson, Corey Cole, Mike Robbins, Ron Roggenbuck, Frank Beck, Mike Featherling, Mitch Robbins and Riley Robbins. Visitation was held at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton, Sunday, 9 June 2013 from 2 - 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral services were held at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Pleasanton, 10 June 2013 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Muldoon at Pittman Cemetery. --------------------- Researched and Submitted by Gloria Neiger Bushong

    3. Good Morning Boschong Subscribers, I am so blessed to have so many people who are willing to share their research with me when they run into a Bushong because I have done the same for them. Steve Pence sent me the following obit that he found today while doing Pence research. Currently in Shenandoah County there is a newspaper called the Free Press and they print news from the olden days. The Free Press Woodstock, Shenandoah County, Virginia THAT'S OLD NEWS 25 December 1931 Mrs. Katie Bushong Shrum, wife of Mr. Tasker Shrum, died Wednesday morning. 1. [BOSCHONG] New movie about Field of Lost Shoes - VMI Cadets and Bushong Reunion 2014 - A change of plans
    2. Russell Bushong
    3. Good Morning Boschong Subscribers, Hope all is well with everyone. I have Two things to discuss with you. One is informational and one I need input on from you to make our next Bushong Reunion a success like the past Reunions. FIRST: There is a Hollywood movie being made about the Battle of New Market but with the focus more on the cadets and their lives rather then the part the Bushongs played with those cadets. That to me, is a little disappointing, but that's Hollywood for you. It will be in the theaters nationally in late 2013 or early 2014 so look for it. It will be a great thing publicity for the Battlefield and should bring in new customers who have never heard of the place before. You can find more information about the movie and the cast by going to IMBD.com and searching for FIELD OF LOST SHOES ------------------- SECOND: Since the Bushong Reunions have been in existence since 2000 at New Market, we have had a lot of Bushong descendants attend, many of them every Reunion. We have pretty much stuck to the same Schedule for all those years. It is time to make a change so the 2014 Bushong Reunion will be a whole lot different and more relaxed then the past ones. For one thing, we are going to add almost the whole day of Friday to the Schedule and possibly some of Sunday but I am eliminating the Sunday service in the barn. I am thinking of making Friday for those that want to come early on Friday, a day of exploring the area around New Market and Woodstock the homes and haunts of the Bushongs with lunch out somewhere in the area before the official Reunion registration at the Quality Inn which will be moved to 5 pm on Friday with dinner still at the Johnny Appleseed at 6 or 6:30 pm. This day there will be no catering and everyone is on their own for lunch and dinner. Saturday we will still be over at the Battlefield and meet in the Museum for Registration, the movie and then some more exploring. Then a catered lunch and a guided tour of the Bushong home and barn in the afternoon. We probably won't be eating in the barn anymore since in the past the weather has not always been condusive to that. We will only be catering two meals and both will be on Saturday at lunch and dinner in the Museum where it is warm and cozy. The cost will either be the same or may go up some to pay for a van or bus for exploring. Or we may car pool to various sites. It depends on how much interest we have for this. We can take in the covered bridge that crosses the Shenandoah River at Meems Bottom, we can do the Grandstaff Mill, (Plains Mill doesn't exist anymore), we can see some of the cemeteries, a few Bushong homes in the area, whatever you all would like to see. Just let me know ahead of time so that I can plan an agenda. Sunday will be a free day to do what you please or possibly join us for more exploring of Bushong haunts but it will not be an official Reunion day. If there is anything in particular that you would like me to put on the agenda for exploring, please let me know. I will be working on the Schedule and Letter and will post it to this List and to the Facebook Page when I am satisfied that everyone that is coming has weighed in. Thanks for your support. Just remember, this is NOT my Reunion, it is yours as proud Bushong descendants. There are many that come to the Reunion that have never heard of any of you as the research community is a very small part of the greater Bushong community. Gloria Neiger Bushong

    2. Russell Bushong
    3. Boschong Subscribers, I won't be posting any research this week because I am involved in my church's Vacation Bible School. We have 270 children enrolled this week which requires a lot of my energy and when I come home, I am really tired. However, I do have enough energy to post a few photos and other things Bushong on the new Bushong Reunion Facebook page. It seems to be a big hit and anyone can join the group if they are a Bushong descendant. 61 people have already joined all Bushong related. Back in September 2009 I posted the Probate record for Jacob H. Bushong. In that probate was a very puzzling note written in German by Elizabeth Bushong and I have never been able to identify the Elizabeth Bushong. I put the note up on the Facebook page for everyone to see. Maybe someone can figure out what it says. After VBS I will start posting again. I have a couple of Chancery records to share. Everyone take care and have a great summer. Gloria Neiger Bushong

Putting them up on Flickr or creating a group Facebook page which would be made Private and you would have to request being a Friend to be accepted. Each has it advantages and disadvantages. For me it would be easier to do Facebook since then everyone could post their photos, view them and also share them with other family members. 3. It's pretty simple to do. Go to facebook.com and just sign up. Just follow the very simple directions. Just remember to make your page secure and don't give your telephone number or full birth day. Just the day and month. No year. Once you have your page then find the Bushong Reunion page and send a request. Then I will Friend you. :) Gloria -----Original Message----- From: Maxine Driscoll <max@sanbrunocable.com> To: boschong <boschong@rootsweb.com> Sent: Fri, Jun 14, 2013 10:53 pm Subject: Re: [BOSCHONG] Where to put the photos of the Bushong Reunions, old Tombstones & old Ancestors? 3. forgot to add that for a couple of organizations in which I am a "leader" we tried Flickr and it did not work well for us, but Facebook did. Guess we all have to sacrifice ourselves before NSA and Emperor Alexander's altar of complete transparency in our "conversations" and sharing over the internet, so Facebook is the easiest for the rest of us to use.
