    3. The following obituary for Jacob Bushong came from a publication by The Church of the Brethren. Gospel Messenger Obit March 22,1887 p.191 "BUSHONG - In Mercer Co., Mo., Feb. 25, Jacob Bushong, aged 68 years and 22 days. Deceased was born in Columbiana Co., Ohio; emigrated to Western Ohio in 1851; to Indiana in 1856; located at Brimfield, Noble Co., in 1861, where he united with the church and has ever lived in the full hope of a glorious immortality. In 1876 he moved to Missouri, where he lived until his death, respected and loved by all who knew him. Last October, while alighting from a conveyance, he crushed both bones in his left leg. From this he suffered intensely, but was miraculously restored to his family, having his leg amputated Dec. 9. His rapid recovery from this fearful ordeal was a matter of great rejoicing to his family and friends. He has long been troubled with heart disease, which again confined him to his bed. He bore his affliction with Christian fortitude, until Feb. 25, at l P.M. when surrounded by his family and friends, he passed peacefully away. B. F. Bushong." ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, May 22, 2011 4:05 PM Subject: [BOSCHONG] George Bushong married to Frances "Fanny" Keller -Columbiana Co. 1. Re: [BOSCHONG] 1820 - George Bushong of Columbiana County, Ohio
    2. Thanks John. George Bushong married to Fanny Keller supposedly died in 1823 . In the 1827 Will of Jacob Bushong of Stark County he states his deceased son George and names a grandson Jacob, son of George. So....... does this mean that this could be the George with the brother John below? This John would be the one who married Barbara Kreighbaum and the one, I believe, is the son of Jacob Bushong and Eve Bossert who stayed in Stark County, Ohio. ------------- 3rd Company- Captain Jacob Wirtz, 52nd Regiment, 1st Brigade Second Divison Pennsylvania Militia encamped at Marcus Hook Lt. Col. Conrad Krickbaum Private John Bishing {Bushong} Second Troop-Montgomery County Calvary Captain Richard A. Edey Private George W. Bishing {Bushong} ---------------- Gloria

    1. [BOSCHONG] 1820 - George Bushong of Columbiana County, Ohio
    2. Boschong Subscribers, Has anyone researched the George Bushong living in 1820 in Columbiana County, Ohio? Don't confuse this George Bushong with the one living in Ross County that same year as they are two different Georges. I believe that I mentioned a George Bushong at some point in the past when posting about the Carroll/Stark County Ohio Bushongs back in May 2007 but don't know if this is the same guy. We suspect he could be and this group came from Pennsylvania. -------------------- Unfortunately, I no longer have access to Ancestry so my researching in early census records is at a stand still for the moment. Much research still to be done! -------------------- Gloria

The funeral services were held at the residence at 3 o'clock on Sunday afternoon and the remains were interred in Maple Grove Cemetery. The pall bearers were William France, William Marvin, Josiah Smith, William Thompson, S. C. Groves and C. A. Croninger. ----------------------- NOTE: Some researchers have said that Andrew was the son of Daniel Bushong and Elizabeth Hisey and that may or may not be the case. There is no real proof as to that fact. Andrew Bushon was born in 1819 in Columbiana County, Ohio and the 1820 census shows the following men as Head of Household: Augustine Bushong Daniel Bushong George Bushong John Bushong Peter Bushong Samuel Bushong ----------------------- Researched and Submitted by Gloria Bushong
