    2. We have a little additional information to add to this as at the time of the post, we did not know when the son Charles E. Bushong died or where Charles and Eddie were buried. I received some material in the mail from the library at Findlay which told me. FOUR KNOWN CHILDREN: 1. Charles E. Bushong Born: 1869 Died: 8 August, 1884 Burial: Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Portage Township, Hancock County, Ohio with his parents William and Eliza (Seitz) Bushong. 2. 1. Re: [BOSCHONG] Andrew Bushon and marriage of Julia Bushong and Samuel VanVori...
    2. Boschong Subscribers, I am thinking that Andrew Bushon who lived in Hancock County, Ohio was the son of John Bushong and Eleanor Rush. I believe that possibly Andrew was raised by other relatives in Columbiana County because of the death of his mother Eleanor Rush when he was young. MY THINKING: John Bushong married Eleanor Rush in 1816 They had 6 children. Julia Bushong who married Samuel VanVoorhis is the only one that has been identified, isn't that correct? According to census records they had a child born around 1819 which could have been Andrew. John's grandfather was Andrew Bushong of VA & KY thus the naming of the son Andrew. Andrew Bushon was born in 1819 and married three times. His mother Eleanor died before 1831 and in the 1830 census there is no mother. Then most of his family moved away from Ohio and that is why there doesn't seem to be much family connection. -------------------- Researched and Submitted by Gloria Bushong

    1. [BOSCHONG] Andrew Bushon and marriage of Julia Bushong and Samuel VanVoris - OH
    2. Okay Boschong Subscribers, Pay attention. Are we sure beyond a shadow of a doubt that Andrew Bushon is the son of Daniel Bushong of Columbiana County, Ohio? When we recently found the marriage record for Julia Bushong who married Samuel VanVoris (VanVoorhis) I also discovered something else rather interesting. Samuel was the son of John Van Voorhis and Lea Monfort as in the surname Morfoot as in second wife of Andrew Bushon. Reportedly Julia Bushong was the daughter of John Bushong and Eleanor Rush. Hmmmmmmm. ---------------------------- LOGAN COUNTY OHIO MARRIAGE RETURNS License obtained on 20th August 1838. 1. [BOSCHONG] John Bushon married to Catharine Miller - OH
    2. Boschong Subscribers, Right along with the marriage record of Simon Miller to Catharine Bushon from the previous post, we have Catharine Miller married to John Bushon also in Tuscarawas County, Ohio. Are Catharine Miller and Simon Miller sister and brother and John Bushon and Catharine Bushon brother and sister? If so, then who the heck are their parents??? Tuscarawas County is the next county over from Stark and Carroll County in Ohio. I know these three counties well since my ancestors on my mother's side lived there very early on, the Wadsworths, McLaughlins, Boyds, and Finefrocks. 2. Boschong Subscribers, There is so much we still don't know about the early Pennsylvania Bushongs. Found Simon Miller and Catharine Bushong in the 1850 census living in the next county over from Tuscarawas County in Ohio. "My great great grandfather was Simon Miller, b.1798 in Pennsylvania. He married Catherine Bushon on March 29, 1832 in Tuscarawas County, Ohio. I have census records showing them living in Coshocton County, Ohio and Tuscarawas County, Ohio. They had one son named Adam Miller, b. His second wife, my great grandmother, was Phoebe Anne Leavengood, b. December 21, 1847 - d. January 2, 1931. They were married November 29, 1877 in Blissfield, Ohio. They had two children: Frank Wellington (1880-1956) and Ora Emmaline (1878-1964). I have not been able to locate Simon's parents. I believe that they were from Pennyslvania. 2. Boschong Subscribers, I received this from a subscriber who will remain anonymous. Gloria ---------------------- Gloria, when my husband and I visited Kentucky in 2009 we met and spoke with Will “Bandy” Bushong’s son Andy. Andy’s given name is John William though he goes by Andy. The comment made by Gramagator about Will’s nickname not making sense, tends to be true in this family. How can you have the nickname of Andy and your name is John? By the way Will Bandy’s son Andy Bushong is now the pharmacist in Tompkinsville, and is the last male descendant living on the land owned by the Bushong family. ----------------- Subscribers, I am thinking that there was not a mistake on his nickname being Bandy. Possibly one of the small children in the family couldn't pronounce Randy so it became "Bandy." I know for a fact that there are some very strange nicknames in the Bushong family. Gloria B.

    2. I'm confused. Are you saying that the John Wesley Bushong who died in Alabama belongs to Joseph Long Bushong and not Jacob Bushong as the death record indicates? I thought I made the post pretty clear. Just copied what was in the census records as far was birth places but they did seem to be confused on occasions as to where their parents were born Ohio vs Germany and Ohio vs Virginia. Were any of the census for your James Wesley Bushong? My head is spinning. I am still working on further posts about the children of William J. Bushong and Eliza Seitz. Trying to find their son Harry A. Bushong in the 1900 census. Found him in all the others, just not that one. When he married in 1906 he was living in Clark County, Illinois but still haven't found him. Gloria

    1. [BOSCHONG] Susannah Bushong married Christian Airhart - OH, d/o Jacob & Rachel Bushong?
    2. COLUMBIANA COUNTY OHIO MARRIAGE RETURNS I do hereby certify that I solemnized the marriage contract between Christian Airhart and Susanna Boushong the 23rd of August in the year of our Lord 1831. Minister of the Gospel H. E. T. Voigt Returned 4th November 1831 and recorded by G. C. Coffin, Clerk -------------------- Boschong Subscribers, While trying to figure out Susannah Bushong of the above marriage, we searched census records looking for this couple and could not find them in the 1850 census under those names. Has anyone else found them? If not, then this means one of three things. They both died before 1850, or they are using other names besides Christian and Susannah or one of them died and the other remarried going by one of his other names. Like John Christian Airhart? We are looking into the premise that Susannah Bushong might have been the daughter of Jacob Bushong and Rachel Keller of Fayette County, Ohio. Susannah is a family name in the Bushong family. She might have died before her father Jacob Bushong's Will was made in 1838 but then again possibly not since Samuel was not named and we know him to be a son. We already know that this couple had more children then we can account for. Jacob Bushong and Rachel Keller were married in 1811. If their first born daughter was Susannah born around 1818/19 then she would have been about 20 when she married in 1831 and would not show up on the census records for Jacob and family. Her husband could have been older as the John Airhart below was born around 1798. For the time being this is all speculation but wanted to throw it out there in case someone has found something that might prove or disprove this premise. See Archives for posts December 2004, May 2007, June 2007, January 2008, July 2008, May 2009 and September 2009 for further information on Jacob Bushong married to Rachel Keller. Since we could not find Christian Airhart in the 1850 census we had to look for another Airhart old enough to marry in 1831 but possibly going under another name and with a second wife. We found a candidate in Fayette County where Jacob Bushong married Rachael Keller lived and who could fit the bill. 1850 Federal Census: Ohio Wayne Township, Fayette County Enumerated 12 August 1850 Page 103A & B Lines 29-42 & 1, HH 588/588 John Airhart 52/Male/Farming/VA {Is this the husband of Susannah Bushong?} Mary Airhart 40/Female/VA {Second wife?} Elizabeth Airhart 18/Female/OH {Daughter of Susannah Bushong?} Eliza A.
