John Borton (Bourton) b. Jan. 25, 1634 Aynho, m. April 28, 1658, d. July 28, 1687 Hillsdown, Evesham Twp., Burlington Cty., New Jersey and Ann Kinton b. abt. 1636 Croughton, Northamptonshire, Eng., d. July 31, 1688, Hillsdown, are the originators of the Borton family in America. They emigrated about 1679 because of religious persecution as Quakers. There is a lot of information available on their line, but let me know if you need direction. I am part of the American line, but I am also working on the Canadian line, decedents of John Borton b. 1694 Aynho, Northamptonshire, England and Margaret Merry, b. abt. 1700 Northamptonshire. Also the lines of Arther Close Borton b. abt. 1851, Ireland, d. 1927, Chevening, Kent, England,(His diary was published, "My Warrior Sons" about his sons in WWI) and his cousin Neville Arthur Blackley Borton b.
