I know that he was a Justice of the Peace and as such, according to my grandmother (Gladys Borton Molohon), he would frequently provide $5 to each couple for whom he performed a marriage. He was short, not particularly good looking (big nose), he was a stock-raiser, he and is brother married sisters (Margaret Brown), in retirement he frequented Terra Haute, Ind, nearby, he died of kidney disease (according to my cousin in Denver whose grandmother Mary Boland, was one of the four daughters). He sold housing lots in the town of Borton where there was a grain elevator (pictures?). His oldest son, John Walter (J. W. or Walter Borton) was my great grandfather. He banked (?) in Oakland, Illinois, a town west of Borton/Isabel. And that his son William (Uncle Billy) looked like him (I have a photo of William and Emmett around 1920.
