Oh my, how very sad. It was a mess. Concerning the church; on a 1910 Borton plat map (can be seen at Ancestry.com http://search.ancestry.com/Browse/View.aspx?dbid=1127&path=Illinois.Edgar, 1910.28) there is a church labeled U.B. to the southeast of the park. That is where the owner of my church window told me the church was located. He also mentioned that it may have been a Methodist Church. I'm thinking this must have been a United Brethern Church. To tie these 2 together, I found this: "The Evangelical United Brethren subsequently merged with the Methodist Church in 1968 to form the United Methodist Church." So this all makes sense.
