    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: acbottomley1 Surnames: Borton, Duell, Massure, Bennett, Sloop Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.borton/225/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Through a stranger's generosity I have come into possession of Abigail Borton's family Bible, given to her by her father, Richard Borton, in 1833. I am attaching information for others who may be interested. I am descended from Sarah Duell, Abigail's daughter. The Bible had been in the possession of another daughter of Abigail, Phebe Duell. My ancestor, Sarah, had married Harrison Sloop. Phebe married Henry Massure, the Bible passed to her daughter Mary Bennett, then to her grandson Robert Bennett, who died childless. In the bible were small silhouettes, which remain unidentified. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: JUdiMW417 Surnames: Borton Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.borton/80.4/mb.ashx Message Board Post: My Mother is from 2 lines of Borton's , Ahimaiaz Borton's son's Samual and Benjamin. My Grandfather was Asa Borton from one line and Grandmother was Hazel Leiby , daughter of Laura Jane Borton, who was the daughter of Ahimaiaz Borton and Martha Borton (daughter of Bethuel Borton and Mary Butcher). My Grandfather, Asa Borton was the son of Arthur Duffield Borton and Abbie Fausey, Arthur Duffield was the son of Asa Borton and Sarah Hagaman, Asa being the son of Samuel Borton and the brother of Ahimaiaz Borton , so needless to say Asa and Ahimaiaz BOTH were my GGG Grandfathers and Uncles. these Bortons sure interbred. I am my own 6th cousin on the Borton side. I do have back to John Borton and Ann Kinton who came to the United States in 1679 from the Village of Aynho, in the southwest corner of Northamtonshire, very near the boundry of Oxfordshire (oxon) county, England. They settled in Burlington County, Mount Laurel Township, New Jersey. And the list of the families since. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
