I found Ellis listed as a son of Ira BORTON and Hannah ALLEN. Ira was born 4 Nov 1808 in Evesham, Burlington County, New Jersey and died 15 Feb 1890 in Mentone, Koscuisko County, Indiana. Ira and Hannah married 18 Sept 1928 (NOTE: This is a typo in the book. It might be 1828.) in Stark County, Ohio. Hannah was born 9 Feb 1806 and died 25 Mar 1864 in Mentone, Koscuisko County, Indiana. She was the daughter of Isaac H. ALLEN and Susan W. _______. If you can find a copy of the original book, there is a small picture of Hannah & Ira BORTON. Maybe someone could scan it and post it here on the message board for you.

Betty Mann's book says Rulon was born in Burlington County, New Jersey. She has Esther born in "CA" CA must stand for Canada and not California. Looks like a little more research is needed. You'll have to check birth records for Fulton County, Ohio and Burlington County New Jersey for starts.

Betty Mann's book says his wife, Esther MC FAUL, was born June 1863 in California. Did he move to California and marry? Maybe he died there too? They had a son named Victor BORTON. I remember seeing the name Victor BORTON in a Detroit directory about 1910 - 20? He may have moved with some cousins to Michigan. Maybe his father, Rulon came with him? I'll check those pages again.

Our lines came from New Jersey to Sunfield, Michigan-Toledo ,Ohio area and came to Warren , Ohio area. My Mom is Bernice Borton and they are mentioned in the Borton Book that Mrs Mason wrote. I believe the Bortons are scattered all over the US now. I would love to hear from all, its really hard to believe that we came from Quakers , I do have many ancestors mentioned in the Meeting Book at Evesham Quaker Meeting House in NJ.
