Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/TIF.2ACEB/106 Message Board Post: I've seen a number of Rootsweb references to Benjamin Borton, born about 1803 to Benjamin and Charity (Rogers) Borton. Most of his life was spent in Guernsey County, Ohio. Most list his wedding date to Keziah Wilson as March 28, 1815. However, that would make him 12 years old at the time of his marriage. Any clarification?

I don't know anything else about her other than the fact that she married William Worley from Hillingdon in 1865 in Aynho, then they moved to Twickenham. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the Bortons who stayed in Aynho, or maybe who Jane might have been related to? Any help will be gratefully received. Janine

Rulon Borton is buried in Montclam Co. Mich. I've seen his grave along side his wife Esther. There was another female name there also but I can't remember who. Rulon lived here after moving from OH for several years before moving north. And again Esther McFaul was born in Canada not CA, Ms Mann seems to be off again.

I think the bible went to someone that collects old bibles. What a shame it didn't go to family somewhere. It was a Pennsylvania Borton line.
Did you by any chance keep the Borton Bible eBay page on your computer? If so, you could email the winning bidder and ask for information about the Bible. tminer2@earthlink.net wrote:This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. I scooted right over there and bid on the bible, but didn't end up with the final bid. I was wondering if anyone had any information on who did get the Bible and if they were willing to share any infromation about it, and let me know. Very helpful web site. Lots of BORTON hits in search index. http://index.burlco.lib.nj.us/Mirror/ Nathan Palmer began publishing the "Burlington Mirror" in 1818 in Mount Holly, the county seat for Burlington County, New Jersey, as a weekly newspaper focusing on business and real estate concerns of the county. The newspaper quickly expanded coverage to include news, commentary and social events. Over its 130 years of publication, "Burlington Mirror", later known as "New Jersey Mirror", recorded the history of Burlington County in detail. Of note are the marriage and death notices from 1818-1848 (before NJ began recording vital statistics), excellent coverage of the Civil War (especially the Burlington County Regiment), detailed legislative and agricultural news, and local news from individual townships. The "New Jersey Mirror" is available on microfilm from October 14, 1818 (vol. 1, no. 5) to March 5, 1947. Both the Burlington County College Library in Pemberton, NJ and the Burlington County Library Headquarters in Westampton, NJ own the microfilm and will do research upon request for a fee. Please contact library@bcc.edu or reference@bcls.lib.nj.us for further information. The indexing of "The New Jersey Mirror" is a cooperative project. The Burlington County College Library staff and volunteers are indexing the newspaper. To date, 60,611 records have been processed.

I've been working to correct them and add to her work. I suppose she was just given the wrong data. I'm sure she did the best she could. It's still a good place to start your own research. I've also found lots of errors in the census records too. I think the data was just copied wrong from bad handwriting........or bad English, German, French, Russian etc.
