Hi All I need some advice from someone with more experience. My gggrandfather, George Tweedie Anderson, on his marriage certificate in 1865 (in Australia) gives his parents as Walter Anderson and Euphemia King. He gives his birthplace as Cramilt (a farm in Megget) in Peeblesshire and age as 27. I can find IGI births for older and a younger sibling but not George. In the 1841 census when he would be about 3 he is not home but older and his younger sibling are home. In the 1851 census 2 older brothers are home but George is missing as is his younger sister. I have not checked Scots Origins for his birth. Might it show up there? Any ideas what I do now? I have considered adoption but if he was adopted after 1851 he would surely know who his parents where. Any suggestions? I have also been unable to locate his death place which I assume was Australia. I have a copy of Peebles MIs and none of the family seem to be shown and I assume the family could afford headstones. There appears to be a connection with Moffat but would it be practical to take a body that distance for burial? Would that be unusual? I often consider collecting coins would be easier but once the bug bites ==. Thanks George in Western Australia
