I am a 3rd generation born Canadian "Holmes" with ancestry documented back to Thomas Holmes born July 29, 1804 and died at Alston June 15, 1871. He married Jane Walton at Alston May 27 1826. She was born December 14, 1804 daughter of John Walton born 1767. Thomas & Jane had 11 children, the eldest being Jonathan born Alston Nov 19, 1826, immigrated to Canada, I don't know when, and died at Dunbarton Ontario May 19, 1890. I am looking for parents of Thomas, I believe to be Richard Holmes born approx.1760 who married Elizabeth Slack in 1790. Also family prior to them. Any kind soul who has information on the family prior to 1804 I would appreciate hearing .
