Dear BORDERS Listers: Because of all the wonderful help that I have received from people on this list I have decided it is time to return the favour! I have access to the "Decennial Indexes to the Services of Heirs for Scotland: 1700-1859". If you send me the name of the "heir" together with a ten year period in which they would have inherited I will check the listings for you. The indexes give: Name of inheritor, details of the inheritance, such as name of property and type of inheritance, (special, general, etc), date it was written, date recorded, and the "monthly number" in which it was recorded. The indexes begin in 10 year increments beginning in 1700. In order to accomodate everyone I must ask that you limit the names requested to (2) per month. I will do this as long as my available time permits. In SUBJECT, please put "SERVICE OF HEIRS LOOKUP". I will be sending you what I find in a small .gif image.
