    3. Can anybody confirm whether the IGI is correct in locating Roberton in SEL? Both ParLoc and Parfind put it in ROX. I would again like to appeal for information on Easter High Chester in Roberton which is given by the IGI as the address of William HOBKIRK and Agnes LAIDLAW in December 1809. I note that there are several places in the Borders contained the name Chester(s) - is it a corruption of the Roman CASTRA? Peter J. Stone South Africa stone@futurest.co.za

If you check the Genuki pages for Roxburgh and or Selkirk they will explain this http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/sct/ You will find that the 1851 Census for Roberton Selkirk is indexed in the 2% index.
