    3. Hello Peter, Yes, there are a lot of Olivers in Roxburghshire at that time. At present I am working on the 1881 census in the area and it shows that there are still quite a few of them still living there. I am trying to locate the death of Betsy Oliver / Rutherford to confirm the names of her parents. I have found on the IGI, a Betty Oliver born 16 march,1807 at Cavers,Roxburgh, to Ebenezer Oliver and Betty Scott. Also, Elizabeth Oliver born 22 November,1806, Castleton, Roxburgh, to John Oliver and Betty Nixon. According to the 1851 census, my Betsy oliver was born c1807, Jedburgh,Roxburgh. the births of her last 4 children were registered at 3 different parishes as well as being registered at Cavers. My belief is that she is from the Cavers Parish. You have been able to go back further than myself at this time. I will keep on researching. Good luck, Dianne Dixon, NZ.
