My Elizabeth list is growing. I have had others forward the following: Elizabeth, Elizebeth, Lizzy, Betty, Bee, Beth, Liz, Beatrix, Beatrice, Bett, Bethany, Bethanie, Bethia... If you have a personal referenced derivative add it to the list and pass it on. Of personal note, I have been hunting for a long while for a "Georgina." Following two years of fruitless searching, I discovered that the father George had wanted a son but got a daughter. Darned if he was going to give up. So he named the daughter George and gave her a Middle name of Jane. Then as luck would have it she went by five names...one person...five names: George, Georgina, George_Jane, GeorgeJania, and Jane. I am sure there will be a Janie, etc. in there somewhere eventually. But I found her eventually under George_ Jane. This ultimately seemed obvious to me, when the words are said with a brogue quickly, and in the tradition of Old English words being pronounced syllabically ...Georrge-jan-e...can easily be transcribed to Georgaina and then to Georgina. So here is another name to check out. Al Dempster -- The cycle of our intermingled lives brought forth the seeds of an intermingled friendship...no strings attached, none expected. "From the lone shieling of the misty island, Mountains divide us and the waste of seas; Yet still the blood is strong, the heart is Highland, And we in dreams behold the Hebrides. Fair these broad meads, these hoary woods are grand -- But we are exiles from our fathers' land." That's all for now.
