As there have been references on the list to both Scott and Tait recently, I am reposting my interests in the SCOTT/TAIT/BLAIR families. I am descended from PETER BLAIR and ELIZABETH TAIT. I believe the family line to be as follows: John BLAIR c. Associate Congregation Church, Jedburgh 13/5/1781, son of Peter BLAIR and . . . . . John BLAIR married Mary SCOTT (b. 30/10/1785 Hobkirk, daughter of William SCOTT and Janet) at Gretna Green approx. 1810 Children of John BLAIR and Mary SCOTT: Jane (or Jean) BLAIR b. 1810 (?) Jedburgh, married Robert MURRAY 31/5/1833 Jedburgh PETER BLAIR b. 1811 (?) Jedburgh, married ELIZABETH TAIT (b. 1810, daughter of William Tait of Hawick) 29/3/1839 at Jedburgh John BLAIR b. 1818 (?) Jedburgh (Two other sons born between 1811 and 1818 (?) and their father John BLAIR, died in Jedburgh in 1834/5 "of a terrible fever").
