I'm envious of some of you who seem to have gone back to the 17th century and further in lyour family research. I'm still working on the 19th century! However, being able to correspond with others doing similar research, particularly those living in our ancestral lands, is kind of nice. When I started this 25 years ago (dropped it after 2 years, just resume again), my companiions were only dusty library shelves and dimly lit microfiche readers. I'm looking for Fairbairns in the Pittington area of Durham, Fairbairns from Sunderland, Broughty-Ferry and/or Dunse, Jacksons of Durham and Scarths and Nicholsons, also in/around Pittington. Anyone else researching these names? Any 32nd cousins out there? Robert Skipp
