I am new to this list and hope I am posting on the correct list. I am looking for a 'lost' ancestor whom I suspect could have moved from the border area to Crichton in Midlothian. There are Waldies listed in the border area and I hope to make a connection there. She was buried as 'Widow Waldie' in 1833 in Crichton. She had a son George WALDIE born in 1875/6 who married Agnes MUIR. George had the following children: Archibald, the first born, could have been named after Widow Waldie's husband according to the Scottish naming pattern. George's other children were Elizabeth, James, Elspeth, Adam, and Agnes. Do these names run in your family? Are there any WALDIE researchers out there? I hope to hear from you.
