Hi Linda, Glad to see you on the list. I've been out of the genealogy loop for a while, taking about a year hiatus, and saw your post. YOUNGs of ROX are vast, yet we may find a connection, somewhere, if we can push our proven lines back a couple generations. I've a George as younger brother to my great grandfather, William. My George YOUNG (b.1860,Markerston, ROX) was not the one listed in what I presume was Kay's 1880 (?) census post, in response to your query. Possible links to our lines in the given names, though, they are all common names of the generation and locale. Along with his other six siblings, my William also has a brother, Oliver (b.1855, Jed. ROX), and sister, Mary (b.1853, Jed). William's parents were James YOUNG & Janet ROBSON (m. 1842, Oxnam, ROX). Too early to tell if all these folks are linked, especially with Haddington possibly in your equation, but I've seen the tracks our predecessors made 'round the isles, and they could get around, so one never knows...
