Hello All, I'm introducing myself as I am new to the list and to research in Scotland. I will listen and lurk and learn. My interest is in John Alexander CONNOCHIE, known as Jack, my father, and his parents, of whom the only one I know is his mother Mary K (Kathleen?), known as Min. I was adopted but dearly wish to do them deserved honour on my family tree. Both died and are buried in Leeds, West Yorkshire. John Alexander CONNOCHIE was married by 1956 to Amy formerly wife of George Hardy, lived in Leeds. son of:- Mrs Mary K CONNOCHIE was born 11 March in (calculated from age at death) 1892, and I believe came from Selkirk. I don't know her maiden name I only recall her mentioning Clan Cameron. In the late 1960's I had an Aunt Esmie in Kinlochleven, Highlands, and an uncle Ian CONNOCHIE who had the Queen's (or Royal) Hotel in Kirkcaldy, Fife. My granny Amy died while I was very young so I was brought up by Mary K. on porridge and haggis and neeps, (tasty) and frequently wore a kilt.
