Dear Eleanor My Great Great Great Grandfather was John Straiton. He married Catherene Gikie April 27, 1827. I think that they were married in Glasgow (or near it). The spelling of her last name is very close to the ones you have printed. "Gikie" is very likely spelled incorrectely as I have seen misspellings several times on certificates. One son, Alexander Straiton (that I know of) moved to Canada and settled in Pickering, Ontario. He married Anna Grant. Looking forward to hearing from you!
