    3. Hello Trish, Below is from gravestone in Sprouston Churchyard. 73. Erected by WILLIAM ROBERTSON merchant London in memory of his father ROBERT ROBERTSON schoolmaster in Sprouston who died 22.2.1833 aged 82 years and his mother MARY HOOD who died 24.4.1809 aged 55 years also of their children DAVID inspector of taxes who died at Kelso 13.2.1860 aged 72 years CATHARINE wife of JOHN LOCKIE tenant in Milkington who died 7.11.1832 aged 39 years JANET who died at Wooler 6.8.1863 aged 81 years also MARY ROBERTSON -Mrs. McLEAN who died 23.8.1869 aged 93 years also WILLIAM ROBERTSON who died in London 23.4.1870 aged 81 years. Pleasance is more likely to be the name of a farm or home. I looked on a current map and on an old Ordinance Survey map but could find nothing. I hope the above gravestone inscription is of help.
