Just to add to the walls that seem to be springing up across the Borders region, here's mine: Alexander PRIDE and Mary PEARSON Both were born sometime around 1820 in Scotland. I'm assuming the location was in the Borders area since their children were all born in the Borders. I'm also assuming they married in the late 1830's since their first child was born in 1839. The children: George, b. 1 Jul 1839, Mertoun, Berwick William, b. 4 Jun 1841, Greenlaw, Berwick Alexander, b. 9 Apr 1843, Eccles, Berwick John, b. abt 1845, Roxburgh Robert, b. abt 1846 Ann, b. 22 Nov 1846, Chirnside, Berwick Thomas, b. 26 Apr 1855, Prestonkirk, East Lothian Based on information in son John's 1868 marriage certificate, it appears that Alexander died after 1868 and Mary before 1868.
