James TROTTER Sr. was purportedly born in Scotland, circa 1725. According to our information, his parents were: William Trotter of Scotland and Caroline Dill/Hill of England. James Trotter went to Virginia before 1743. He was married to Ann ____, in Brunswick, Virginia in 1743. Any information that anyone might have would be appreciated. Just a theory, but it is possible that he lived in the Fife area, near the family of David PEEBLES and Elspet MACKIE. These are David and Elspet'children who stayed in Scotland: Christian, Criston, Thomas. Captain David PEEBLES/PEEPLES/PEOPLES, left Scotland and settled in Virginia, before 1655. His son, William, also settled in Virginia around that time. It is possible that some members of these PEEBLES or MACKIE families may be able to give us information about the TROTTER family.
