    3. Dear Listers, I am primarily searching the BRACK line, and RUTHERFORD too. There are very few BRACK's in the counties of Roxburgh and Berwick and I strongly believe that all the BRACK's are more likely to be related in some way. The old family bible lists William BRACK either born in 1741 or 1744 (can't clearly read the date) in Grubbitt Law, Roxburgh. He was supposedly baptized in the Parish of Morebattle, but unfortunately the records are missing from 1736 to 1760. William married Elisaabeth (Betty) RUTHERFORD who was born in Faummerton in December 15, 1756 and baptized in the Parish of Linton. They were married in June 26, 1777 in Clinkamin in the Parish of Sprouston. William and Betty lived in Lempitlaw and had ten children, out of them five died in childhood and are buried in the Parish of Sprouston Cemetery. William worked as a Steward (probably Land Steward) and died July 20, 1812 and is buried with his five children. Through his life, his five surviving children went on to marry. Some married in Scotland and some in Quebec, these three children married in Scotland. Isabella BRACK, oldest daughter born December 15, 1780 in Greenhead, married Adam AINSLIE. Marriage date and place unknown. They had six children and came to Canada in 1829 and settled in Granby Quebec. John BRACK, born February 21, 1786, in Greenhead, married Janet HENDERSON (born about 1785) they were married December 10, 1813 in Ancrum, Roxburgh. They had three children in Scotland, came to Quebec Canada in 1819 and had three children in Quebec. Agnes BRACK, born April 1, 1788, in Greenhead, married Peter McLEAN June 24, 1810 (born 1782) in Crailing, Roxburgh. They had at least one daughter named Agnes born in 1812 and probably other children. They came to Canada in 1817. After the death of William BRACK, his wife Betty and their son Alexander, along with Betty's Brother William RUTHERFORD and his family came to Canada aboard the PROMPT in 1817. William RUTHERFORD's wife was Agnes HALL. They had four children William Robert, Janet and Isabella. Prior to coming to Canada William had lived in Primsede Mill, Roxburgh. If you have a BRACK in your line I would love to hear from you. Terribly sorry about my long rambling post! Kathleen BROCK Edmonton, AB
