My G/G.Grandfather George Temple, a husbandman of Camphouse, Jedburgh parish, married Isabel Dagleash at St.Cuthberts church, Elsdon, Northumberland 31/5/1801. Also a John Temple (very possibly George's brother), a farmer of Camphouse, Jedburgh parish married a Mary --------of Camptown, Jedburgh parish around 1795/96. Both George and John and their families lived at Rochester in North Northumberland from then on and had their children baptised at Birdhope Craig Presbyterian church at Rochester. Both George and John and their wives died in the area and were buried at St. Francis chapel at Byrness, which is a few miles North of Rochester. This chapel burial ground was a known place of burial for Presbyterians. If any lister can help or has any suggestions about trying to identify the birth place/parents/siblings of George and John, I'd be obliged for the assistance. Having visited the area previously, Camphouse is a farm and Camptown a small village a few hundred yards from Camphouse farm. Mike Temple, Spain.
