I have an old postcard showing a bridge crossing a stream and it is imprinted with "Bankend, the home of Thomas Davidson 'The Scottish Probationer'" The death certificate I have for Thomas lists Jedburgh, and he is buried in Jedburgh. He died approximately 1877 (I'm too lazy to look it up at the moment), but the postcard appears to be from a later date. It was never used or dated. I, too, am a little curious about the location; if anything further develops, would you please let me know?     3. I did a search on Google.com for Bankend Jedburgh, and there are quite a lot of entries there, including a lot of information on Thomas Davidson. The present site of the Edinbrugh Woollen Mills on the A68 St.Boswells/Jedburgh road is described as being in the Bankend area of Jedburgh. Best regards - Mike Penrith, NSW, Australia
