A for the postcard you are right, it would be much later than 1877 due to legal restrictions - basically postcards as we know then didn't exist at the time. Local postcard publishers included the Smails, and Turnbulls, who took over their shop. Also Clappertons - and national firms like Valentine of Dundee.
