    3. My brickwalls lay between: 1) Henry Brough OLIVER and his parents 2) Sarah Jane BELL and her parents I received the following marriage information re: my ggg grandparents from the Carlisle Record Office: "The index to Brampton marriages records that Henry Brough Oliver, bachelor of Brampton and Sarah Bell (whose mother Jane was her guardian) were married by licence on 22 October 1798. In addition the marriage licence bond records that: Henry was a gentleman; Sarah was a minor of Brampton; the bondsman was Thomas Bell, innkeeper who swore that Jane Bell was Sarah's mother." Also, where would I be able to find any books about Brampton that would cover this time period? Also, can sks educate me in the terms "marriage by licence" , "marriage licence bond"&"bondsman" in the above context? Thanks, Walter Lee Edmonton, Alberta Canada
