Have you considered that they might not have been Church of Scotland? If they were from one on the non-conformist groups, or even Episcopalian or Catholic, their records will be in the National Archives of Scotland where they survive, and not on Origins. These records are not on line (or, as far as I know, indexed in many cases) and you'll have to get someone to go in and look for you.
