Hi! I have just joined your list and am hoping some SKS can help me locate my grandfathers birth and death, according to the 1881 census he was born in Carlisle 1877. His name is Henry Lawrence MORLEY son of John MORLEY b.c.1837 and Mary ?. Henry married Mary (Millie) Scott POTTS from Sorbie, Wigtown 1903. My father John William MORLEY b. sept 1906 was orphaned 1916-19 and sent to the Royal Caledonian School, Bushey, Herts. The school cannot find my fathers records so there are no clues from there. I do have some other people to look for which I will post later if I may but I dearly want to find out more about my fathers family as he didn't know much about his father either. Hi Helen, I don't think I can help you with your request, but you never know. I had a great uncle named Archie (I think) MORLEY, he was married to a lady named Alice (nee HOME). They worked on an estate (in what capacity I'm not sure) for someone to do with CARR biscuits, and I think they lived in a place called Brampton (which I believe is near Carlisle). I hope this will be of some help to you, and if you have any more info. besides what was in your original e-mail, that you think might help me to fill in my missing blanks, I'd appreciate hearing from you or anyone else.
