    3. Hello Borders Listers. I think that there may be a problem with the Peebles-Shire list. I think that in some way the site is DOWN. Being a newbie to rootsweb.lists I do not know what I should do next. My ownly thought at the moment is to copy my listing to Peebles-shire list to the Borders list and keep my fingers crossed. There is a second listing to follow. Subject "Robertson". Hello Peebles listers This is my first time on this list. I am looking for contact with some kind soul who may be able to help me to find more of my g.grandfather's family. He is ROBERT CLEGHORN b. Peebles 1826, the son of ALEXANDER CLEGHORN the veteran of Waterloo, who was at one time Burgh Officer in Peebles, and ANN RODGERS. At the time my grandfather William Wallace Cleghorn was born in 1880, and on census night 1881, Robert and his family were living in school Brae, Peebles. ALEXANDER CLEGHORN was born in Drumelzier in 1782, and at that time his family had been living in Drumelzier for several generations. I have managed to find seven other children born to his parents and I would now like to find out who they married and who their descendants are. The parents of Alexander are JAMES CLEGHORN and JEAN WATERS. In the OPR I have found many other references to the CLEGHORN(E) name which occured in Broughton, Dolphinton, Eddleston, Innerleithen, Manor, Newlands, Skirling, Stanhope, Stobo, Traquair, West Linton, and a number of other places which I have not yet found on a map. Some of these references go back to the very early 1700s, and even earlier. I would like to establish whether or not these records are of one extended family or whether these records are of a more distantly related "Clan". Is there any out there willing to help or guide this KIWI in his search for his Scottish roots. I will be pleased to hear from anyone. If you have enquiries you would like done in New Zealand in return for help given, then give me a try. I will help if I can. Regards to all from Greg Blackburn in Paekakariki, New Zealand
