I'm looking for information on Christian (Christy) Sword (1807-1880), daughter of John Sword (1778-1831) and Elizabeth(1784- ). John Sword died in Jedburgh and I believe there is a family grave there. Many descendants lived in Jedburgh. Christy was a servant to Robert Pringle in parish of Southdean. She had a son who was christened at "Mervinslaw" farm near Camptown in 1834. Why would he be christened at Mervinslaw rather than Jedbugh? any references gratefully received Robyn rpcant@bigpond.com
