I looked up the Index to the pre-1855 Old Parish Records for Berwickshire, but Douglas is a popular name round here and I could find no entries for a Margaret and Isabella Douglas, with the same parents. living near the actual border. I have been looking for a birth of Margaret Douglas 1820/1824 for years now, It appears from her daughters birth certificate she may have been born at Stobbs Cross Shorewood, yet the census suggests, her place of birth, may have been Norham. as was her husbands Thomas Ingles. the only other information is in her irregular marriage, a witness being Isabella, I suspect this to be her sister.
