Dear Lesley, I will look this up next week when I am at Scottish Borders Archives. The information could be on the Old Parish Records, but it wa not compulsory in Scotland to register BMD until 1855, and researchers often find they come to the proverbial brick wall at this point, if nothing can be found. The records are those of the Chruch of Scotland - not other denominations. Hope to respond with some positive info. Susan, Hawick, Scottish Borders. -----Original Message----- From: border-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:border-bounces@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of Lesley & Terry Ruppel Sent: 15 September 2006 13:26 To: border@rootsweb.com Subject: [BORDER] Temple Hutton Berwick Hi Listers, I noticed someone looking up information about people in Hutton Berwick. I was hoping they may have a look for me. John Temple born Chirnside 1824 married Jane Porter no birthdate,Their daughter Jane my gg grandmother married William Tait 6 June 1845. I have no idea where they were married. Or where William Tait was born or his parents names. Would the information i need be on the parish record if i could find out where they were married?. Any help pointing me in the right direction would help. Thank you. Lesley Ontario.
