    3. Thanks Robin. I saw that at Genuki. but....So does that mean it is part of Hawick? 3. Sorry, my last post wasn't clear. I meant-does that mean Damside was part of the town of Hawick? 3. Hi, John - there were originally two parishes to what is now Hawick - Hawick Parish, south of the River Teviot and Wilton Parish, north of the river. Damside was in Wilton parish as was earlier explained. The area is now definitely part of the existing town of Hawick, close to the town centre. Victoria Road is still there and runs alongside the town's main car park at the Common Haugh. Hope this helps. Susan Donaldson, Hawick. -----Original Message----- From: border-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:border-bounces@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of j burns Sent: 14 April 2007 21:08 To: border@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [BORDER] Damside, Wilton Parish Sorry, my last post wasn't clear.
