** Other people can respond about what actually exists, but I should like to point out an oft-forgotten fact: Most people have NO gravestone to mark their burial place. This is often the reason you cannot find one. Other reasons for non-findable inscriptions are : 1. The stone is beneath the turf and so not visible 2. the stone got damaged or broken and has been disposed of 3. The original marker was non-substantial (flaky sandstone, or tin-plate or wood, and the inscription if not the whole marker has been lost. 5. The stone is surrounded by an overgrown bush or yew tree, and so hidden from view. 6. The stone got missed during the MI recording process. 7. The transcription got mislaid between copying and the final printing. For all these reasons, inscriptions may not be available. I have the ones from the old Cavers Kirk. No Grieves there. Christopher and his wife and two daughters are at Cavers in 1841, presumably he died before 1851. > He is listed in the Lieutenancy Book for Roxburgh in 1799 as a servant at Shankend, when he would have been about 20, according to the census. > Margaret in Brisbane
